Synopsis of Previous Commission/Council/Committee Action:
09-06-88 Resolution No. 5145 approved. Admin Budget adopted included the
expenditure of $50,000 for liability insurance coverage by the City.

Move to adopt RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AUTHORIZING THE
EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT WITH THE REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY OF SAN
BERNARDINO RELATING TO INSURANCE COVERAGE.

Discussion has been occurring at staff level relative to the Agency's total
insurance needs with Risk Management Director John Kirwan. As a result of
these discussion the attached agreement has been drafted for your review and
comments. The agreement provides for the following:
1. Time of performance: July 1, 1988 thru June 30, 1989.
2. Compensation: FY 88/89 the sum of $50,000.00 and
negotiated for each year thereafter on a
prorata share of the City's insurance
premium.
3. Termination: The agreement can be terminated by either
party upon 30 days written notice.
4. Scope of Services City will provide Agency with liability
coverage to a limit of $25,000,000.00
Staff recommends approval of Agreement (Insurance Services) and adoption of
the accompanying Resolution.
The Redevelopment Committee reviewed the matter and they recommend approval.
Also, the amount of the contract has been included in the 88/89 Admin. Budget
which was approved on September 6, 1988.

THIS AGREEMENT is made and entered into effective as of
the
day of
, 1988, by and between the
REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO, CALIFORNIA, a
public agency of the State of California, hereinafter referred to
as the "Agency", and the CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO, a charter city,
hereinafter referred to as the "City".
The parties do hereby agree:
1. Recitals.
(a) Agency has a need for liability insurance
coverage.
(b) City, through its Risk Management Department, is
prepared to provide insurance coverage for Agency in the same
manner as such coverage is provided to City agencies and
departments.
2. Implementation.
(a) Services. City agrees to provide the services of
the Risk Management Department in providing liability coverage to
Agency to a limit of $25,000,000
(b)
Time of Performance.
Such insurance coverage
shall commence on July 1, 1988.
This agreement shall continue
until June 30, 1989, unless sooner terminated by the action of
either Agency or City.
(c) Compensation. At the commencement of the term of
this Agreement, Agency shall pay City an amount of Fifty Thousan

CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO, ON BEHALF OF THE REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF
THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO, AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE
EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE
CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AND THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO RELATING TO
INSURANCE COVERAGE.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1.
The Chairman and Secretary of the Community
Development Commission of the City of San Bernardino are hereby
authorized and directed to execute for and on behalf of the
Redevelopment Agency of the City of San Bernardino an agreement
between the Redevelopment Agency of the City of San Bernardino
and the City of San Bernardino relating to insurance coverage. A
copy of said Agreement is attached hereto as Exhibit "1" and
incorporated herein by reference a though fully set forth at
length.

RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AUTHORIZING THE

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY
