ORDINANCE NO. r/l- 77 AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE ENTRANCE OF MINOR CHILDREN AND INDIANS INTO SALOONS AND BILLIARD HALLS IN THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO. . . . . . . . . . The Mayor and Common Council, of the C.tty of San Bernardino do ordain as follows: Section 1. No person, being a minor child, male Dr female, under the age of twenty-one years, or any Indian, shall enter, visit, or loiter about any gambling house, bar, saloon, or any place where spirituous, malt, or vinous liquors are sold, furnished, or given away. nOE- eh"a*-! any such minor child, male (,,~ ;/!,c-L_At.......... or fem~le, under the age of;_lniy ene years, enter or visit or loiter about any public billiard hall or place where a billiard table or pool table is kept for hire, or to enter, visit, or loiter about any house of prostitution. Section 2. No person. Who, as proprietor or manager of, or having in charge any gambling house, bar, saloon, or place where spirituous, malt, or vinous liquors are sold or give away shall permit any minor child under the age of twenty-one years, male or female, or any Indian, to visit said gambling house, bar, saloon, or other place Where s~drituous, malt, or vinous liquors are sold or given away; nor shall any person, as proprietor, manager, or ~aving charge of any public billiard hall or place where billiard tables or pool tables are kept for hire, or of any hquse of prostitution, permit any minor child under the age Of~~~~~e years, male or female, to enter, or visit, or loiter aboat any such place. Section 3. Any person violating any of the provisiobs t of this ordinance shall, upon convic~i~n thereof, be punished by a fine not exceeding One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) or by imprisonment not exceeding ninety (90) days, or by both such fine and imprisonment, in the discretion of thin Court. " '" Section 4. Ordinance No. 236 of the City of San Bernardino entitled "An Ordinance regUlating the entrance of ainor children, under the age of seventeen ~ears into billiard halls and saloons", adopted and approved on the 18th day of December, 1900 and all ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. Section 5. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after thirty (30) days after its passage and approval. Section 6. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this ordinance and cause the same to be published for three (3) consecutive days in The Evening Index.
