The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Sam
Bernardino do ordain as follows:
Section 1. It shall be unlawful for any person while
riding or propelling any bicycle, tricycle, velocipede, motor-
cycle, or similar means of conveyance, or for any person wearing
roller-skates, on or in any street, alley or other public place
in the City of San Bernardino, to take hold of, or hold on to
or in any manner attach himself or such bicycle, tricycle,
velocipede, motorcycle, or similar means of conveyance, on or to
anF moving street car, automobile, wagon, or other vehicle or
conveyance, or any portion thereof, for the purpose of propelling
or assisting or aiding in propelling or accelerating the speed
of any such bicycle, tricycle, velocipede, motorcycle, or other
similar means of conveyance, or for the purpose of aiding or
assisting any such person wearing roller-skates, in skating or
travelling on such roller skates.

Section ~ It shall be unlawful for any person to
secretly enter or be upon" or to secretly attempt to enter or
be upon, or to secretly ride on any street car, automobile)
wagon, or other vehicle, in the City of San Bernardino, or to
ride or attempt to ride upon any such street car, autimObile,
wagon, or other vehicle with intent or purpose of avoiding or
to escape being seen by the conductor, driver, or other person
having charge thereof) or with such intent or purpose to ~tand
or be upon the steps ot or hang on to or attach himseif to the
exterior side, rear, or front of any such street car, automobile,
wagon, or other vehicle.

Section 3 Any person who shall violate any of the
provisions of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty og a mis-
demeanor,and upon conviction thereof shall be punished by a
tine not exceeding One Hundred Dollars ($100.00), or by
imprisonment in the City Jail for a period of not exceeding
Fifty (50) days, or by both such fine and imprisonment.

in conflict herewithJ are hereby repealed.

This ordinance shall take effect and be
in force from and after thirty days after ~ts passage and
approval.

The City Clerk shall certify to the passage

consecutive days in The Evening Index.
