The Mayor and Common Council of the City of San
Bernardino do ordain as follows:
Section I.
It sha.l1 be unlc~wful for any person, firm,
or corporation to use, run, or operate any station~ry engine
driven by means of internal combustion of gases therein, within
the City of San Bernardino without placing upon the exhaust
thereof a muffler or ot:::wr device so as to silence the noise
or report caused by the escaping of such gases from and through
.'!lch exhaust.
Section II.
Any person, firm, or corporation violating
any of the provisions of t~lis ordinance shall be deemed guil ty of
a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be punished by
a fine not excef;?ding One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) or by imprison-
ment in the City Jail not excee4ing fifty (50) days, or by both
such fine and imprisonment in the discretion of the court.
Section III.
This ordinance shall take effect and be in
force from and after its passage and adoption ".s provided by law.
Section IV.
The City Clerk sha.ll certify to the passage
of the foregoing ordinance and CBu,se the same to be published
for three consecutive'days.in The Evening-Index.
