Bernardino. do ordain as follows, :
3ectionI: Any person taking or receiving wlt ar
from any of the City water rmdns by means of service -
com..eotions or o'.berwii3~ shall be governed and controlled
by the following rules
Rule r : All consumers of water must keep t.heir
sen ice pipes, fixtures , stop cocks and other apparatus
( but not the service put{:i.n and owned by the Cit.y ),
in good repa.ir and free from leakage at their own exp ensa ,
and they will be liable for all damages ':'hich may xetdi
result from their failure to comply herewith.
Rule II: The superintendent , or ;my other
authori zed ofi"icer of the Board of Water Commissioners.

direct that no plumber or other pexson shall be aLlovjed
to make c~nnection with the City water mains or with any
pipe or fixture connecting therewith, or to connect pipes
Vm3n they haWe been disconnected by direction of the
water
Water Department , or to turn~on or off on any premises
without permission of the Superintendent of the City
Water Department.
When a permit has been iSBuEd by the Superintendent
of the City Water Department for the extension of repairs
of any pipe or fixture connected with the City water
mains , it shall be the duty of th person tohom such
permit is issued t within twenty-four(24) hours after the
completioJl 01' such extension or repairs , to report to
the City Water Depar',ment the true condition of such
pipes or fixtures t showing the faucets J standpipes ·
hydrmta , bath-t~lbs, toilets , or fixtures cunnected with
the City water service pipes.
':ection I I: A ny person or porsons violating
,any of the foregoing rules and regulatio.,s , or ,iolating
any other rule or regulation promulg~ted by the Buard of
Water Commissioners with referenoe to the water system
of the City of San B,ernardino J or the., taking or
receiving water therefrom J shall be deemed gui.Lty of a
mi&iemeanor and upon c()n..~i~ thereof shall be punished
~.~
by a fine not exoeeding ~ _~ed Dollars , or by
imprisonment not exceeding ~ days, or by both
such fine and imprisonment in the disoretion of the
Court.
Section. III: This Ordinance is urgently required
for the immErltate presarvtaion of public heal tb,
and safety, and the City Clerk shall certify to its
