STAFF REPORT
The Engineering Division received a request to evaluate
the traffic safety condition on 28th 'Street be~ween Waterman
Avenue and "E" Street. The concern was stop control of the
side streets entering 28th Street.
The matter was discussed by the Traffic Safety Committee
and a recommendation was brought to the Mayor and Common Council
to install stop control at side streets entering onto 28th
Street. On May 28. 1988. Resoluti~n No. 88-152 was approved
authorizing the installation of stop signs at five (5) locations
along 28th Street.
However. there was already stop control for the east/west
direction at "0" Stfeet. The resolution called for addi.tional
signs on "0" Street to stop north/south traffic. This was in error
in the implementation of the recommendation of the Safety Committee.
Staff requested the stop signs for the north-bo.und "0" Street
traffic be removed and warning signs be installed.
On September 7. 1988. Resolution No. 88-340 authorized
the removal of the undesired north/south stop signs on "0" Street
at 28th Street. Resolution No. 88-340 also inadvertently repealed
Resolution No. 88-152 which was necessary to legally authorize the
installation of the stop signs at the remaining 4 locations on
28th Street.
We recommend approval of the attached resolution t~
administratively correct this oversight.

RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AMENDING
RESOLUTION NO. 2482. ENTITLED IN PART. "A RESOLUTION. . . .
DESIGNATING CERTAIN STREET INTERSECTIONS WHERE A STOP IS REQUIRED
. ."; AND AUTHORIZING THE INSTALLAtION OF STOP SIGNS ON GENEVIEVE
STREET. PERSHING AVENUE. MAYFIELD AVENUE. AND STODDARD AVENUE AT
T~EIR INTERSECTION WITH TWENTY-EIG~TH STREET.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO. AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Resolution No. 2482. which designates
certain street intersections where a stop is required. Section
One. is amended by adding thereto Subsection (11 b) to read as
follows:
(II b) For the purpose of stopping traffic entering
TWENTY-EIGHTH STREET at its intersection with the following
streets:
Belle Street
Leroy Street
Wall Avenue
Sepulveda Avenue
Lugo Avenue
Mt. View Avenue
"F" Street
Genevieve Street
Pershing Avenue
Mayfield Avenue
Stoddard Avenue
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was duly
adopted by the Mayor and Common Council of the City of San
