STAFF REPORT
The document which established the law Enforcement Trainee and Fire Fighter
Trainee programs stipulated that the salaries would be 80% of the salary paid
to Police Officer (P-1) and FireFighter (P-1).
The annual police and fire salary adjustments mandated by Section 186 of the
City Charter have been completed. and the salaries for the law Enforcement and
Fire Fighter Trainees are adjusted.
The increase in salary wi:ll have an approximate impact of $2016 (FY 88-89) in
the Fire Deparment and $5544 (FY 87-88) in the Police Department. The Finance
Departmentindicated that these salary increases have been budgeted.
The attached resolution also provides for a 3% increase for the Retired Senior
Volunteer Program Coordi'nator and the Senior Companion Program Coordinator. This
action is in conformance with the Federal grant for these programs. This increase
is at no cost to the City.
