Synopsis of Previous Council action:
None.
Recommended motion:
1. That the Director of Public Works/City Engineer and the City Clerk be authorized
to proceed with the proposed vacation of a portion of "J" Street, North of Oak
Street.
2. That Plan No. 7603, for the vacation of a portion of "J" Street, north of Oak
Street, be approved.

STAFF REPORT
A request was received to vacate a portion of "J" street. North of Oak street. from a
property owner' adjoining the proposed area to the East. The property to the West is
owned by the City of San Bernardino School District. They are in agreement with the
proposed vdcation. Tlw property on the North is owned by County Flood Control
District. They will be contacted through our investigative proceedings. for
concurrence.
The petitioner has deposited the required $200.00. which represents one-half of the
total fee of $400.00. The remaining $200.00 will be due after the investigative
proceedings.
This portion of "J" street is unimproved.It appears to be used
there is no apparent need for a street here since it dead ends at
Channel.

If authorization to proceed with this proposal is given. all interested City
Departments and Uti li ty Companies wi 11 be notified for their comments regarding this
proposal.
It is therefore recommended that the Director of Public Works/City Engineer and the
City Clerk be authorized to proceed with the proposed vacation, and that Plan No. 7603
be approved.
