I OF SAN BERNARD~..~O - REQU.~T FOR COUNCIL AC\ ..ON STAFF REPORT Subject: City/Housing Authority/community Hospital Senior citizen Complex Mayor and Common Council Meeting october 3, 1988, 2:00 p.m. The Mayor and Common Council have previously taken actions in support of the development of a fifty unit senior citizen housing project at the corner of 17th and Flores Streets. During the Public Hearings held to adopt the Interim POlicy Document and the Preferred Land Use Alternative map, it was the intent of the Council to include this proposed development in the MU-6 (Mixed Use-6) designation assigned to certain parcels around the community Hospital complex. sometime during consideration of the Preferred Land Use Alternative "E", and the adoption of the Preferred Land Use Alternative Map on May 23, 1988, the project and proper land use designation was inadvertently excluded from the final map. A similar situation arose with regard to the ten-plex theater complex on Del Rosa Avenue south of Highland Avenue. In that instance, the Council, upon recommendation of the City Clerk, adopted a motion amending the Preferred Land Use Alternative map to coincide with their original intent.. I, therefore, recommend adoption of the attached form motion to amend the Preferred Land Use Alternative map to change that portion of land owned by the San Bernardino community Hospital located west of Medical Center Drive, north of 16th Street, east of Flores Street, south of 19th Street, and currently designated RS (Residential Suburban), to MU-6 (Mixed Use-6).
