On May 18, 1988, the Mayor am Catm:m Council approved moo fumi.n;J of the project which approved am adopted the Ccmm.mi.ty Development citizen Advisory Committee (CIX:AC) rec:xmnermtion. A letter was sent to the Hispanic 01amber on May 26, 1987 requestirg that a detailed budget am scope of services be fo:r:warded to the ComInuirity Develq.ment Department so an agreement could be prepared am the project initiated. No response was received to this or a number of future requests for said infonnation. '!he Community Development Department currently has a joint powers agreement with the San Bernardino County Department of Economic am Community Development for a Hispanic 01amber project fumed in FY 1984/1985, which includes various activities for the education of hispanic business owners. '!he City's portion of this agreement was $45,000.00. CUrrently, the balance in that acx:::ount is $10,572.00. '!he City has requested quarterly reports fran the Hispanic 01amber to detenni.ne the progress of this activity am to date, no response has been received despite written am verbal requests. '!he County ECD is lead agency for this project am it has irxlicated that the Hispanic 01amber has internal am organizational problems, which are hirrlerirg its perfonnance in this contract (84/85).
