DESCRIPTION) C10thing~5JEf~ Finance: Council Notes: Agenda Item No. 3b CIT. OF SAN BERNARDlh4 - REQUE~ r FOR COUNCIL AC1.~N STAFF REPORT F-89-08 The Purchasing Agent feels the Bid F-89-08 does not accurately reflect the full cost of the contract to the City. A re-bid of this situation would be in the best interest of the City. 1. The growth of people on the uniform contract has distorted the true and actual number vs the specifications. 2. It appears the specifications are becoming out dated overall. 3. We should provide for the other departments inquires that may be interested at a later date. 4. The circumstances of extraordinary cost that is present in this particular situation in changing vendors or staying with the existing vendor should be revised and covered in the specifications to prevent this situation from happening in the future. The existing contract should be extended ninety (90) days until new specifications include the present time requirements and all foreseeable problems of transition costs are weighed in the City's best interest.
