OF SAN BERNARDIh.~ - REQUE~r FOR COUNCIL AC1".ON STAFF REPORT Request: To adopt the Alternative Map, Document 300 as scale part of Preferred Land Use the Interim POlicy On May 23, 1988, the Mayor and Common Council adopted the Preferred Land Use Alternative as part of the Interim Policy Document. The Preferred Land Use Alternative was adopted at a 2000 scale (1 inch=2000 feet) and interpreted, by the Planning Department onto 300 scale, parcel specific maps. Minor corrections, comparable to typographical errors, have been made to the 2000 and 300 scale maps. The descriptions of these corrections are attached. Actual changes to land use designations have not been made to either of the maps. The City Attorney's Office advised Planning that changes or revisions should go through the amendment procedure adopted by the Mayor and Common Council at their meeting of October 24, 1988. As approved, the amendment procedure requires a filing fee and application, submittals, environmental review and public hearings. Changes or revisions can also be made during the final public hearing process for adoption of the General Plan. Adoption of the 300 scale maps as part of the Interim Policy Document will clarify land use designations for the public. The 300 scale maps also help to identify areas that may need further study, prior to adoption of the General Plan in May, 1989. Recommendation: Adopt the attached resolution which makes the 300 scale maps a part of the Interim Policy document and amends Page 4, section III (A) as noted. cms10/27/88 DOC:GP LUAM 75-0264 1 RESOLUTION NO. 2 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AMENDING THE INTERIM POLICY DOCUMENT RELATING TO THE ADOPTION OF 300 SCALE 3 MAPS WHICH CLARIFY THE LAND USE DESIGNATIONS DEPICTED ON THE 2,000 SCALE MAPS. 4 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY 5 OF SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS: 6 SECTION 1.
