STAFF REPORT
The Water Department is constructing Air Stripping Towers at
Horine Reservoir for the removal of volatile organic chemi-
cals from the groundwater basin. This project requires that
an additional electric service be obtained from Southern
California Edison for these facilities. Southern California
Edison's electric service is installed underground, termi-
nating at a pad mount transformer.
The Board of Water

A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL, CITY OF SAN
3 BERNARDINO, GRANTING AN EASEMENT TO SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA EDISON
COMPANY, A CORPORATION, FOR ELECTRIC SERVICE TO WATER DEPARTMENT
4 ACILITIES AT RALPH HORINE RESERVOIR, SAN BERNARDINO, CALIFORNIA.
5 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION ONE: That the City of San Bernardino execute a
8 Grant of Easement to Southern California Edison Company, a
9 corporation,
for transmission
of
electrical
energy
and
10 appurtenant facilities.

SECTION TWO: That the said Grant of Easement referred to
12 herein, a copy of which is attached hereto, marked Exhibit nAn,
13 and is hereby referred to and made a part hereof as fully as
14 though set forth at length herein, is hereby approved.

SECTION THREE:
That the Mayor and City Clerk of the City
16 of San Bernardino are hereby authorized and directed to execute
said Grant of Easement on behalf of the City of San Bernardino.

CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO, a municipal corporation, (hereinafter referred to as "Grantor"), hereby
grants to SOUTHERN CALI FORNIA EDI SON COMPANY, a corporati on, its successors and assi gns (hereinafter
referred to as "Grantee"), an easement and ri9ht of way to construct, use, maintain, operate, alter, add
to, repair, replace, reconstruct, inspect and remove at any time and from time to time underground
electrical supply systems and COll11lunication systems (hereinafter referred to as "systems"), consisting of
wi res, underground conduits, cabl es, vaults, manhol es, handhol es, and i ncl udi ng above-ground enclosures,
markers and concrete pads and other appurtenant fiKtures and equipment necessary or useful for
distributing electrical energy and for transmitting intelligence by electrical means, in, on, over,
under, across and along that certain real property in the County of San Bernardino, State of California,
described as follows:
The Southerly 12 feet of the Northerly 131.5 feet of the Easterly 172 feet of Lot 11, Block 3, Tract
No. 1809, Garden Estates Unit No.2 as shown on Map recorded In Book 26, page 22 of Maps in the
Office of the Recroder of said County.
The Grantor agrees for itself, its successors and assigns not to erect, place or maintain, nor
to permit the erection, placement or maintenance of any building, planter boxes, earth fill or other
structures except walls and fences on the above described real property. The Grantee, and its
contractors, agents and employees, shall have the right to trim or cut tree roots as may endanger or
interfere with said systems and shall have free access to said systems and every part thereof, at all
times. for the purpose of exercising the rights herein granted; provided, however, that In making any
e,cavati-on on said property of the Grantor(s), the Grantee shall make the same in such a manner as will
cause the least Injury to the surface of the ground around such excavation, and shall replace the earth
so removed by it and restore the surface of the ground to as near the same condition as it was prior to
such excavation as Is practicable.
