TOTAL ESTIMATED PROJECT COST $ 179,000.00
The contract documents were prepared with an Additive
Alternate for applying a seal coat. A price of $19,054.00 was
quoted by the low bidder for this item of work. We do not
recommend that the Additive Alternate be included in the
contract.
An amount of $772,440 has been set aside under Account
No. 242-632-57366, to finance the items of work required to
complete construction, such as placing the final 1! inches of
asphalt concrete on the street and landscaping. The amount of
funds designated for placing additional thickness of pavement
is $300,000.
At their meeting of 8-25-88, The Environmental Review
Committee determined that the project is not subject to
provisions of the California Environmental Quality Act.
We recommend that a contract for the Basic Bid be
awarded to the low bidder.

1 RESOLUTION NO.
2 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AWARDING A
CONTRACT TO MATICH CORPORATION FOR REHABILITATION OF PAVEMENT
3 ON HOSPITALITY LANE, BETWEEN WATERMAN AVENUE AND GAGE CANAL.
4 BE IN RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Matich Corporation is the lowest responsible
bidder for: Rehabilitation of Pavement on Hospitality Lane,
between Waterman Avenue and Gage Canal, in accordance with Plan
No. 7548, for the total amount of $150,263.75, and a contract
for the Basic Bid is awarded to said bidder accordingly, but such
award shall be effective only upon the contract being fully
executed by the parties; all other bids therefor are hereby
rejected; and the Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to
execute said contract on ~ehalf of the City; a copy of the
contract is attached hereto, marked Exhibit "A" and incorporated
herein by reference as fully as though set forth at length.
SECTION 2. This contract and any amendment or
modifications thereto shall not take effect or become operative
until fully signed and executed by the parties and no party shall
be obligated hereunder until the time of such full execution. N
oral agreements, amendments, modifications or waivers are
intended or authorized and shall not be implied from any act or
course of conduct of any party.

adopted by the Mayor and Common Council of the City of San
