FOR COUNCIL ACTI"N STAFF REPORT The contract for this project was awarded for the low bid price of $84,710.00. The actual final contract price is $84,414.58, due to the additional cost of $974.58 for Change Order No. One, and the final quantities of various items of work being different than the estimated quantities in the bid documents. Clamps were to be installed every 12 feet to fasten the conduit to the bridge over the Lytle Creek Channel. However, the Caltrans Inspector advised that Caltran's Standard Specifications require clamps every 5 feet. Change Order No. One was issued to direct the Contractor to install clamps every 5 feet, instead of 12 feet. All work was satisfactorily completed as of 10-06-88. We recommend that the work be approved and accepted, and that final payment be authorized at the expiration of the lien period. 11-09-88
