CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO - REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION
STAFF REPORT
The Police Pistol Range. at Perris Hill Park. has been in
service for many years. Wooden baffles. installed to trap
stray bullets. have been severely damaged by ricochetting
bullets. Also. the Elk's Lodge has been developed since
construction of the Police Pistol Range. which creates the
po s sib il i t Y 0 f a ve h i c 1 e b e i n g hit by a s t ray bull e t w h il e
traveling on the ac~ess driveway.
Under this project the baffles will be replaced and an earthen
berm constructed to increase the safety measures provided for
the range.
This project is exempt from environmental review. as provided
by Section 15302 of Chapter 3. of the Guidelines for
Implementation of the California Environmental Quality Act.
We recommend that a finding of need for health and safety
reasons be made.
