STAFF REPORT
F-89-04
The proposed contract is for Weed Abatement work. At the request
of the request of the Public Services Department appropriate specifications
were prepared, published, and furnished to area suppliers of this
service. The bid was publicly opened and declared on march 11, 1988.
The following is a summary of bids received.

Eighteen bidders were solicited, four responded, one no bid, two
particial bids, 1 complete bid.
Specification as bid have been recieved with the Director of Public
Service who concurs the complete bid of Ed Martins Discing best meets
the City's specifications and requirements. It is therefore recommended
the bid be accepted for the contract. Funding is in the 1988/89 budget.

RESOLUTION NO.
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AWARDING A CONTRACT
TO ED MARTINS DISCING FOR THE FURNISHING AND DELIVERING OF
WEED ABATEMENT WORK IN ACCORDANCE WITH SPECIFICATION F-89-09.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That Ed Martins Discing is the lowest and best
bidder for the furnishing and delivering Weed Abatement work
for a one-year period in accordance with Bid Specification
F-89-04 for the total amount of $100,000.00; pursuant to this
determination, the Purchasing Agent is hereby authorized and
directed to issue a purchase order for said Weed Abatement
work to said lowest and best bidder; such award shall only be
effective upon the issuance of a purchase order by the Pur-
chasing Agent; and all other bids therefor are hereby rejected.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was duly
