San Bernardino County Sheriff1s Department has applied for the use of Nunez Softball fields (2) for a benefit softball tournament on April 23 and 24, 1988 on behalf of Easter Seals Foundation. Rental fees for these facilities would be a total of $100. A $1 million liability policy will be required for this event. The Sheriff's Department has requested that fees be waived. The group is made up of employees from the Coroner's Office, the Public Defender's Office, the Marshal's Office, the Sheriff's Department, County Probation and the California Highway Patrol. There are over 240 people who will participate. The tournament is organized to raise funds which are to be donated in full to a needy organization. The proceeds from this tournament will go to the Easter Seals Foundation. The purpose of this letter is to let you know that arrangements have been made for the tournament to be held at the Nunez Fields in San Bernardino. We are asking for consideration on waiving part or all of the fees required by the Parks and Recreation Department.
