March 21, 1988 - Adopted Resolution 88-88 authorizing the Director of Parks,
Recreation and Community Services Department to make application
for and accept a grant from ACTION in the amount of $175,600
for the Senior Companion Program for the period July 1, 1988
through June 30, 1989.

RESOLUTION APPROVING A REVISED BUDGET STAFF REPORT
FOR THE SENIOR COMPANION PROGRAM FOR
BUDGET YEAR 1988-89.
When the ACTION grant application for continued funding of the SCP was first approved,
it was for $175,600. While the application was being processed, we were informed
that there was some additional funding available for cost of living increase which
would be added into our grant. The grant has been increased to $179,488. The
city match for the SCP budget will remain the same as previously approved. The
cost of living increase went into the volunteer support expenses to supplement
travel and meals for the companions.
Recommend acceptance of the increased funding ($3,888) and adoption of the
resolution.

RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AMENDING
RESOLUTION NO. 88-88 AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PARKS,
RECREATION AND COMMUNITY SERVICES DEPARTMENT TO MAKE APPLICATION
FOR AND ACCEPT A GRANT FROM "ACTION" IN THE AMOUNT OF $179,488
FOR THE SENIOR COMPANION PROGRAM FOR THE PERIOD JULY 1, 1988
THROUGH JUNE 30, 1989.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The Director of Parks, Recreation and Community
9 Services Department of the City of San Bernardino is hereby
10 authorized and directed to submit an application to, and accept
11 on behalf of the City a grant from, "ACTION" in the amount of
12 $179,488 for the Senior Companion Program for the period of July
13 1, 1988 through June 30, 1989.
14 I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was duly
15 adopted by the Mayor and Common Council of the City of San
