Synopsis of Previous Council action:
04/04/88
The City Engineer and City Clerk were authorized to proceed with
the vacation of a portion of that certain alley Northeast of "I"
street, Northwest of Inland Center Drive, and Plan No. 7426,
showing the proposed vacation, was approved.
Recommended motion:
That a finding be made that the vacation of a portion of that certain alley
Northeast of "I" street, Northwest of Inland Center Drive, is needed for
health and safety reasons.

. Northwest of Inland Center
Engineer and the City Clerk were authorized to proceed with
a portion of that certain,alley Northeast of "I" street,
Drive, and Plan No. 7426.was approved.
The alley abuts several vacant lots on the West, which are all owned by the
petitioner, and Southern Pacific Railroad right of way on the East. The petitioner has
indicated to us that he plans to combine all the individual parcels he owns, into one
parcel and plans to develop this area, with access being provided off of Inland Center
Drive and "I" Street. To assure access to all adjacent parcels, an easement for access
will be reserved in the Resolution of Intention and the Resolution Ordering Vacation.

This alley proposed for vacation is an unimproved alley and a potential hazard due to
the lack of maintenance and lack of proper policing that exists. There are no
residences adjacent to the proposed area that would be directly affected by the
vacation. Since this alley doesn't appear to serve any general public use, it is
recommended that a finding be made that the proposed vacation is needed for health and
safety reasons.
