STAFF REPORT
In 1984, the Mayor and Common Council agreed in concept
and made an appropriation of funds to renovate bus stop locations
in the Central City area. Plans have been prepared and the proj-
ect is funded, in part, with Federal FAU funds.
Prior to obtaining approval to complete the project, it
is necessary to process Program Supplement No. 43 to the Local
Agency-State Agreement No. 08-5033 to have this project added to
the program and made it eligible for federal funds.
The present estimated total cost of the project is
$102,000.00 with the federal share being $88,168.00 and the local
share being $13,832.00.
We recommend that authorization be granted for the execu-
tion of the Program Supplement No. 43 and the adoption of the
attached resulution.

CALIFORNIA, ACTING BY AND THROUGH ITS DEPARTMENT OF
TRANSPORTAT:(ON.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS:

8 SECTION 1. The Mayor of the City of San Bernardino is
9 hereby authorized and directed to execute on behalf of said
10 City Program Supplement No. 43 to Local Agency-state Agreement
11 for Federal-Aid Projects No. 8-5033 to authorize certain
12 safety improvements, between said City and the State of
13 California, acting by and through its Department of
14 Transportation, a copy of which is attached hereto marked
15 Exhibit "A" and incorporated herein by reference as fully as
16 though set forth at length herein.

SPECIAL COVENANTS OR REMARKS
1. All maintenance, involving the physical condition and the
operation of the improvements, referred to in Article VI
MAINTENANCE of the aforementioned Master Agreement will
be performed by the Local Agency at regular intervals or
as required for efficient operation of the completed improvements.
2. In executing this Program Supplemental Agreement the Local
Agency hereby reaffirms the "Nondiscrimination Assurances"
contained in the aforementioned Master Agreement for Federal-Aid
Programs.
3. The Local Agency will advertise, award, and administer this
project and will obtain the State's concurrence prior to
either award or rejection of the contract.
4. The Local Agency agrees the payment of Federal funds will
be limited to the Detail Estimate amounts approved by the
Federal Highway Administration in the Federal-Aid Project
Agreement (PR-2), or its modification (PR-2A), and accepts
any increases in Local Agency Funds as shown on the Finance
or Bid Letter or its modification as prepared by the Office
of Local Assistance.
