Their request was discussed at the Mayor's Traffic Safety Advisory Committee meeting, and a traffic study subsequently was completed. The study indicates that Goodlett Street is a 64 foot-wide street in an East/West direction and functions as a collector street between Mt. Vernon and Medical Center Drive. Daily traffic volume on Goodlett is estimated at two thousand per day, most of which is generated by the Community Hospital in the vicinity. Traffic accident history shows that two accidents were reported at Harrington. Both of them could have been prevented by installing stop signs. In addition, local residents claimed that there were stop signs installed at these intersections before Mt. Vernon Avenue was realigned. The signs were stolen but never replaced. The Traffic Safety Committee concurs with the residents request and recommends that the Mayor and City Council authorize stop signs on Harrington and Pico Avenues at Goodlett Street. City Attorney: Please add subsection (25.15) to Section One, Resolution 2482 to read: (25.15) For the purpose of stopping traffic entering Goodlett Street at its intersection with the following streets: Harrington Avenue Pico Avenue 1-20-86 2 75-0264 \\ ~~ HIGHL A 1'1 0 AV fE 20'tb s,..
