OF SAN BERNARDI.. .D - REQUI. ~T FOR COUNCIL AC'~ ..ON STAFF REPORT Plans for the renovation of the Central City Bus Stops have been reviewed by Caltrans along with the project specifications. The plans and specifications have been approved but Caltrans has not yet authorized the bidding of the project. Council will consider the Program Supplement to the State Agreement at the February 2, 1987 Council meeting and it appears that upon execution of the Program Supplement, Caltrans will authorize the project for bidding. In order to expedite the project and be prepared to take advantage of the competitive bidding, we would recommend that Council authorize the Director of Public Works/City Engineer to advertise the project for bids upon receipt of approval from Caltrans. Total Project Cost is listed below: Construction Contract Engineering - Design and Construction Inspection (W.O. #1482) $ 84,300 13,115 Sub-Total $ 97,415 Contingencies (i15%) $ 14,585 TOTAL ESTIMATED PROJECT COST $112,000 Federal participation is estimated to be $88,168.00. City funds are in Account No. 242-363-57364. An amount of $22,593.68 was appropriated in the 85-86 budget.
