SAN BERNARDINO CALLING A SPECIAL ELECTION AND AN ADVISORY ELECTION
3 IN THE CITY OF SAN BERl\ARDINO TO BE HELD 0'\1 TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 7,
2006; REQUESTING THA l' THE COlNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS ALLOW THOSE
4 ELECTIONS TO BE CONSOLIDATED WITH THE ST ATEWIDE GENERAL ELECTION
OF THAT SAME DATE; Al'm REQUESTING SERVICES OF THE COUNTY REGISTRAR
5 OF VOTERS FOR THE CONDUCT OF THOSE ELECTIONS.
6 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MA YOR AND COMMON COtJNCIL OF THE CITY
7 OF SAN BERNARDI]\;O AS FOLLOWS:
8 WHEREAS, the Mayor and Common Council desire to submit certain matters to the
9 City's electorate, and
10 WHEREAS, there is a statewide general election scheduled for Tuesday,
11 November 7, 2006, and
12 WHEREAS. the Mayor and Common Council desire [0 call a special municipal election
13 to be consolidated with the statewide general election, and
14 WHEREAS, the Mayor and Common Council desire to call an advisory election to be
15 consolidated with the special municipal election
16 SECTION I. The Mayor and Common Council find and determine that each of the
17 findings set forth above is true and correct.
18 SECTION 2 There shall be, and there is hereby called and ordered held in the City of
19 San Bernardino, California, on Tuesday, the 7th day of November, 2006, a special election (the
20 "Special Election") to present measures to the City's voters to be enumerated by one or more
21 resolutions adopted subsequent to the adoption of this resolution.
22 SECTION 3. There shall be, and there is hereby called and ordered held in the City of
23 San Bernardino, California, on Tuesday, the 7th day of November, 2006, an advisory election
24 (the" Advisory Election ") on an advisory Ineasure to be enumerated by one or more resolutions
25 adopted subsequent to the adoption of this resolution.
26 SECTION 4. The Mayor and Common Council hereby consolidate the Advisory Election
27 with the Special Election (together the "Consolidated Special Election..).

GENERAL ELECTION OF THAT SAME DATE; AND REQUESTI"iG SERVICES OF
4 THE COUNTY REGISTRAR OF VOTERS FOR THE CONDUCT OF THOSE
ELECTIONS.

6 SECTION S. The Mayor and Common Council hereby declare its intent to consolidate
7 the Consolidated Special Election with the statewide general election to be held on
8 November 7, 2006.
9 SECTION 6. In all particulars not recited in this Resolution, the Consolidated Special
10 Election shall be held and conducted as provided by law.
II SECTION 7. Notice of the time and place of holding the Consolidated Special Election
12 is hereby given, and the City Clerk is authorized, instructed, and directed to give further or
13 additional notice of the election, in time, form, and manner as required by law.
14 SECTION 8. The City Clerk is hereby authorized, instructed and directed to procure and
15 furnish (or cause to be procured and furnished) any and all official ballot notices, printed matter,
16 and all other supplies, equipment, and paraphernalia that may be necessary to prepare and lawfully
17 conduct the Consolidated Special Election.
18 SECTION 9. The last day for receipt of primary arguments for or against the ordinance
19 has been established as 4:30 p.m. on August 22,2006 in the City Clerk's Office, Second Floor,
20 City Hall, 300 North "D" Street, San Bernardino, California, and the last day for receipt of
21 rebuttal arguments is 4:30 p.m. on September I, 2006, in the city Clerk's Office at the above
22 location.
23 SECTION 10. The Mayor and Cornmon Council hereby request the San Bernardino
24 County Registrar of Voters to provide all services necessary to conduct the Consolidated Special
25 Election, and to conduct and canvass the results of the Conso! idated Special Election.
26 SECTION 11. The City shall reimburse the San Bernardino County Registrar of Voters
27 for services performed at the rate specified per registered voters in the City, when the work is
28 completed and upon presentation to the City of a properly approved bill.

SECTION 12. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this Resolution
and enter it into the book of original Resolutions and transmit a copy to the County Board of

Supervisors.
