WHEREAS, The San Bernardino Area Chamber of Commerce, along with co-sponsor The SUN
Newspaper, will celebrate the Thirtieth Annual Law Enforcement Recognition Dinner on May 18, 2006;
and
WHEREAS, Officers from the San Bernardino Police Department, the San Bernardino County
Sheriff's Department, the California Highway Patrol, the San Bernardino City Unified School District
Police, California State University San Bernardino Police Department, and the San Bernardino Valley
College Police Department will be honored; and
WHEREAS, The security of our community depends upon dedicated Law Enforcement officers;
and the business community relies on men and women in Law Enforcement to maintain a safe environment
wherein business transactions may take place; and
WHEREAS, The Chamber of Commerce and The SUN wish to recognize those men and women
who have dedicated their professional lives to make San Bernardino a safe enviromnent in which to live
and work.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, PATRICK J. MORRIS, MAYOR OF THE CITY OF SAN
BERNARDINO, DO HEREBY PROCLAIM MAY 2006 AS
"LA W ENFORCEMENT MONTH"
and urge the citizens to give support to the San Bernardino Area Chamber of Commerce and The
SUN in recognition of professional Law Enforcement Officers who are serving our community.
