CI~ OF SAN BERNARDI..., - REQUE:rl' FOR COUNCIL AC1lON
STAFF REPORT
September 1985, the Area Tax Board approved a temporary
project for downtown beautification, for sweeping and clean-
ing of the downtown business areas sidewalks, curbs, gutters
and bus stops, and weeding of tree wells by Public Buildings
Custodial Maintenance Crews. They also approved purchase of
a limited amount of equipment for this period, including a
dumpster truck when funds became available. There is a
current available balance in excess of $11,000.
This project was recommended for full implementation for
fiscal year 86-87, and approved by the Mayor and Common
Council. Purchase of a small Daihatsu all steel dumpster
truck was deferred until there was sufficient surplus funds
available to support the purchase.
Since there is now sufficient surplus funds available within
the Parking and Business Improvement Account to support this
request ($7,500), we recommend the purchase of equipment be
authorized.
