This matter was discussed at 10/8/86 Mayor's Traffic Safety Advisory Committee Meeting, and the Committee decided to first conduct a neigh- borhood questionaire survey to determine what type of parking control al ternatives the residents perferred, namely, 2-hour parking, resident permit parking, and no control at all. A total of 126 questionnaires were sent out in mid-October to all the residents living in the area bounded by Waterman Avenue to the West, Crestview to the East, 21st Street to the North, and 18th Street to the South. 59 responses have been received (46% rate of return), of which 541 prefer 2-hour parking, 191 prefer residential permit parking at $10/permit, 191 prefer no restriction at all and 41 other. The results of the survey was presented to the Mayor's Traffic Safety Advisory Committee at their 11/12/86 meeting. The Committee subse- quently recommends that the area between 21st Street and 19th Street, including 20th Street, Kenwood, Crestview, Pepper Tree, Parkside and Broadmoor be designated for 2-hour parking, 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.
