Synopsis of Previous Council action:
May, 1986 Requested that a RFP be prepared for providing custodial servic~s
for various publ ic buildings throughout the City. I

Resolution No. 86-397 adopted awarding a contract to Aerial
Service Corp. for the low bid price of $124,700.00.
Recommended motion:
That Change Order No. One to the contract with Aerial
Service Corporation, for providing custodial services for
various public buildings throughout the City, in accordance
with Plan No. 7021, be approved; to authorize the Contractor
to provide up to 1525 hours of attendant services, at a cost
not to exceed $10,797, for an increase in the contract price
from $124,700.00 to $135,497.00.

STAFF REPORT
The contract specifications listed certain standard items of work to
be done. Scheduling of these items was left to the Contractor's discretion.
After the Contractor assumed responsibility for custodial services,
it became apparent that attendant services were urgently needed. An attendant(s)
is needed to clean up spills, set up the main room for lunch and dancing, re-
stock supplies in the restrooms, and other duties as directed by the Center
Manager.
Aerial Service Corporation has quoted a price of $7.08 per hour for
each personnel.
The Senior Citizen Center was Item No.7 in Schedule VI. The contract
price is $2,500.00. Approval of Change Order No. One will increase the auth-
orized contract price to $13,297.
An amount of $35,988 was allocated in the 1986-87 Budget, under
Account No. 001-387-53115, to cover the cost for providing custodial services
for this facility.
We recommend that Change Order No. One be approved.
URGENCY CLAUSE:
Change Order No. One has been accepted by the Contractor, as of 12-1-86.
Therefore, it is essential that this Change Order be presented to the Mayor
and Council for ratification at the next meeting.

Gentlemen:
The contract documents for providing custodial services for various public
buildings. Schedules IV - IX. in accordance with Plan No. 7021. are hereby amended
as follows. relative to Item No.7, Senior Citizens Center, 600 West Fifth Street.
of Schedule No. VI:
The Contractor shall provide up to 1525 hours of attendant services, to
perform the following duties:
1. Set up tables and chairs for lunch. and taking down to allow dancing. and other
set up as needed.
2. Clean up spills. soil and debris from floors and furniture. as needed.
3. Clean ash trays. as needed.
4. Replenish supplies in restrooms. as needed.

Duties Continued:
5. Clean restrooms, as needed.
6. Other custodial duties required for operation of center, as directed by the
facility manager.
The unit cost to the City for attendant services shall be $7.08 per hour, for each
personne 1 .
The total cost for providing attendant services shall not exceed $10,797.00 (1.525
hours X $7.08/hour).
Attendant services shall be provided in accordance with the following schedule, or
as directed by the facility manager:
First Personnel -
Monday through Friday - 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Second Personnel -
Tuesday through Friday - 12:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Saturday 9:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
