year extension of a newspaper recycling project, effective July 1, 1985, by Res-
olution No. 85-305.

STAFF REPORT
The Newspaper Incentive Program was established in 197B and because of its suc-
cess has been amended annually since its inception. Newspapers are collected
by Refuse Residential Crews in metal side racks attached to all Refuse units.
The paper is stored at the City Yard, hand sorted by County Work Sentence Par-
ticipants and, as per contract, is sold to Central City Recycling Company located
on South "G" Street in San Bernardino
40% of the received revenue is distributed to the Refuse Revenue Fund - Sale of
Newspaper; 40% to a revenue account to be used as employee incentive; and 20% to
The Sun Company for their charitable Lend-a-Hand Program.
For FY85-86 almost $400.00 was paid to the Lend-a-Hand Program.

Second Amendment to Agreement effective July 1, 1986, with the
Sun Company of San Bernardino, California, relating to a one-year
extension of the term for a newspaper recycling project, a copy
of which is attached hereto as Exhibit "A" and incorporated
herein by this reference as though fully set forth at length,

SECOND AMENDMENT TO AGREEMENT
(Newspaper Recycling Project)
THIS SECOND AMENDMENT TO AGREEMENT is entered into effective
as of July 1, 1986, by and between the CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO, a
municipal corporation, hereinafter referred to as "City", and THE
SUN COMPANY OF SAN BERNARDINO, CALIFORNIA, a California

corporation, hereinafter referred to as "Newapaper".
City and Newspaper agree as follows:
1. Recitals.
A. City and Newspaper entered into an agreement on February
1] 3, 1984, and a First Amendment on August 27, 1985, effective July
12 1, 1985, relating to a newspaper recycling program.
13 B. City and Newspaper desire to amend the agree~ent to
14 provide for a one-year extension of the term, to and including
15 June 30, 1937,
16 2. Term. The ter.n of the a9ree,nent .i s extended for a one-
17 year period, commencing July 1, 1986, and terminating June 30,
18 1987.
19 ], Other Provisions, All other ter~s, conditions and
20 covenants of the agreement shall remain the same and be in full
2] force and effect.
