Synopsis of Previous Council action:
/'
A. During the Council meeting of 11-3-86, Council directed that the above
Resolutions reappear on the Council Agenda to effect certain changes
to the classification of Superintendent of Building and Safety.
B. During the Council meeting of 9-22-86, Council increased the number
of General Building Inspectors from 6 to 8 and increased the number
of Code Compliance Officers from 1 to 2.
Recommended motion:
Adopt Resolutions.

STAFF REPORT
During' the 11-3-86 Council meeting, a Resolution was con-
sidered which provided for:
1) Changing the title of Superintendent of Building
and Safety to Director of Building and Safety.
2) Changing the salary of the above class from Range
4147 to Range 4156.
The cost increase is estimated using the difference in
dollars at the top step of the salary ranges and comes to
approximately $535 per month including fringe benefits. The
cost for a 6 month period (January - June) is thus $3210.
The attached Resolutions have been annotated to draw
attention to the title and new salary of the Director
position, as veIl as the prior salary.
Resolution 6433 has been additionally changed to formally
provide for the staffing increases approved by Council during
the 9-22-86 meeting.
