Synopsis of Previous Council action:
06/18/86
Tentative Tract No. 12974 was approved by the Planning
Commission with conditions.
Recommended motion:
That the City Engineer and City Clerk are authorized to proceed with
initiating proceedings for the establishment of an assessment district
under the provisions of Chapter 12.90 of the San Bernardino Municipal
Code and that the City Engineer is directed to prepare an Engineer's
Report for the proposed maintenance of landscaping in portions of
Meridian Avenue, Northerly of Randall Avenue, in the City of San
Bernardino.

STAFF REPORT
A petition has been received by this office requesting the
formation of an assessment district for the maintenance of
landscaping along the East side of Meridian Avenue along the
frontage of Tentative Tract No. 12974. This petition is the
result of requirement by the City for the Developer to
establish the district. The assessment will include
maintenance of landscaping, energy costs and administrative
costs. The signatures affixed to the referenced petition have
been checked and found to represent the owners of 100 percent
of the area of the property lying within the proposed
boundaries of the district to be assessed for the proposed
maintenance, The developer will be required to up-front the
cost of the proceedings for the establishment of the district.
The owner of this tract is also the owner of Tentative Tract
No. 13389 which lies directly behind Tract No. 12974 and which
receives its access from Meridian Avenue through the same
feeder streets. Consequently Tentative Tract No. 13389 will
also receive the benefit of the landscaping maintenance along
Meridian, and we have, therefore, included Tract No. 13389
within the boundaries of this district. (See attached plat map)
