STAFF REPORT
The quarter mile running track around the football field at Del Vallejo School
is maintained by the Parks Division as part of the agreement for city use of
that School District property. The track has not been renovated in several years,
and this, coupled with the heavy use of the track has caused the loss of the track
soil mix leaving native, rocky soil which has poor drainage. The condition of the
track is causing problems for those using the track.
A one inch overlay of running track mix consisting of 20 percent angel mix and
80 percent Decomposed Granite and Loam will give the users a good running track
surface with good drainage. A total of 250 tons of mix at $21 per ton will be
needed. All fine grading and spreading will be done by Park Division personnel.
Total cost for this project is $5,250.
This request has been coordinated with the Council Office.
