Resolution No. 86-439 adopted awarding contract to Allen B. Davis, Painting Contractor, for the low bid price of $61,359.00 for Base Bid nAn and Alternate No. Two. Recommended motion: That Change Order No. One to the contract with Allen B. Refinishing the signs was not included in the contract plans, due to an uncertainty as to sufficient funds being available for this work. A contract was awarded for the low bid price of $61,359.00, which leaves an available balance of $3,641.00. The Contractor has quoted a price of $1,624.00 for refinishing the signs on the upper level. We have reviewed this price, and believe it to be fair and reasonable for the work involved. The remaining signs will be refinished by City Forces from the Public Buildings Division. We recommend that Change Order No. One be approved. URGENCY CLAUSE: All work under this contract is scheduled to be completed the week of November 17th.
