Davis, Painting Contractor, for the low bid price of
$61,359.00 for Base Bid nAn and Alternate No. Two.
Recommended motion:
That Change Order No. One to the contract with Allen B. Davis,
Painting Contractor, for painting Three-Level Parking
Structure at the Southwest corner of Fourth and nEn Streets,
be approved; to authorize the Contractor to scrape, prime and
repaint metal signs on the top level of structure, at a net
increase in contract price of $1,624.00, from $61,359.00 to
$62,983.00.

STAFF REPORT
An amount of $65,000 was allocated for repainting the structure, and
refinishing the signs. Refinishing the signs was not included in the contract
plans, due to an uncertainty as to sufficient funds being available for this
work.
A contract was awarded for the low bid price of $61,359.00, which
leaves an available balance of $3,641.00. The Contractor has quoted a price
of $1,624.00 for refinishing the signs on the upper level. We have reviewed
this price, and believe it to be fair and reasonable for the work involved.
The remaining signs will be refinished by City Forces from the Public
Buildings Division.
We recommend that Change Order No. One be approved.
URGENCY CLAUSE:
All work under this contract is scheduled to be completed the week of
November 17th. It will be required for this change order to be approved at
the Council Meeting of 11-17-86 if the project is to be finished by Thanksgiving.
