Synopsis of Previous Council action:
On December 2, 1984, the Mayor and Common Council approved an agreement for
housing consultant services in an amount not to exceed $25,000 (plus expenses),

STAFF REPORT
John R. Trauth, housing consultant, has an agreement with the
City of San Bernardino that provides for $25,000 in hourly
services at $45.00 per hour, or a total of 555.5 hours for
the contract year which ends December 1, 1986. Expenses are
billed in addition to cost.
At an average of forty-six (46) hours per month, total hours
to date should have been 461 as of the end of October.
Estimating thirty-six (36) hours for October, Mr. Trauth will
have charged the City for a total of 374 hours which is
eighty-seven under budget, leaving a total of 181.5 hours
remaining as of November 1, 1986.
At approximately the same rate of hours per month, staff
estimates that the existing agreement could be extended to
cover the period from November 1, 1986 through Barch 31,
1987. Mr. Trauth would be agreeable to an extension of the
current agreement for four (4) additional months (December 2,
1986 through March 31, 19871 under the same terms and condi-
tions as are stipulated in the present agreement. Such an
extension would require no additional funding.
Based upon the quality of services previously rendered by Mr.
Trauth (see attached summary), staff recommends extension of
the agreement among the City and John R. Trauth, Housing a.nd
Community Development Consultant, from December 2, 1986 to
March 31, 1987. Said extension would require no additional
