I am requesting a place on the agenda at the next City
Council meeting. This is reguards to a project I am doing at Kendall and
State College Parkway, Tract #12674.
City Ordinance 18.40.380 Underground Utility Service for
SUbdivisions, states that utility lines shall be required to be placed
underground. We have designed this project with the new utilities to be
installed underground. The City Engineering Department is now re-
questing that we relocate all existing utilities underground as well.
The replacement of existing utilities underground would be unreasonably
costly to do so. It would be beneficial to me if you and the City
Council would review this matter and consider giving to me a wavier on
this project. The section of the ordinance pertaining to underground
utilities makes no specific mention to "Existing Utilities",
During this past two years effort to get approval on this
project, the City of San Bernardino requested we donate Lot #1 of
five lots in our tract to the City for a location of a well. We
complied with this request and we feel it was qui~a sizable donation.
