OF SAN BERNARDeO - REQUeT FOR COUNCIL AceON STAFF REPORT "The San Bernardino Police Department, along with law enforcement agencies in general are concerned with the activities, individuals involved and impact of Organized Crime on our community. A seminar such as this one provides the agencies in attendance with up-to-date information relating to these people and their activities. I should note that this is a "closed" seminar, in that attendance is by invitation only and only Intelligence Officers are invited. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, Intelligence Unit is the host for these annual seminars and does so at a great expense to itself, for the purpose of sharing activities of Organized Crime figures in the Las Vegas area. Due to the relative conduit between Las Vegas and Los Angeles, it is very beneficial for this department to be aware of and to maintain as current as possible, infor- mation on this organized criminal element of our society." The above is a summation by Intelligence Officer, Ron Covey, the student who will be attending the seminar. 75-0264
