Supplemental funding in the amount of $40,000 approved.
Resolution No. 85-392 adopted awarding the contract to
the low bidder for the low bid price of $138,760.00,

That Change Order No. One to the contract with SCC
General Contractors, for the construction of two
racquetball courts at the Boy's Club, in accordance
with Plan No. 6684 be approved; to authorize the
Contractor to frame the new roof into the existing roof
at an increase in contract price of $2,208,44, from
$138,760.00 to $140,968.44.

STAFF REPORT
During construction, it was discovered that the new
root did not match the existing roof due to a difference in
elevations, as shown on the plans. In order to solve the problem,
the Contractor was directed to remove a portion of the newly
installed framing and modify the existing roof as directed by
the Architect.
The Contractor has quoted a price of $2,208.44 for
doing this work. We feel this is a fair and reasonable price
for the amount and type of work involved,
The total estimated project cost, based upon the actual
low bid price, contained an amount of $22,140 for contingencies,
which can be used to finance the cost of this extra work,
We recommend that Change Order No. 1 be approved.
