SePtember, 1985 - Allocation of $293,000 approved in the Street
Construction Fund, under Account No, 242-362-57366
to finance the Local Agency share,

Recommewled motion:
That Change Order No. One to the contract with
Bonadiman-McCain, Inc, for construction of a bridge
on San Timoteo Creek at Hospitality Lane, in
accordance with Plan No. 6653, be approved, to
authorize the contractor to furnish steel piling
material and weld to each side of steel pipe web,at
an increase in the contract price of $689,09, from
$490,777,60 to $491,466,69,

STAFF REPORT
The specifications state that the steel piles be driven
at a minimum bearing resistance, However, during the driving of
4 piles, it was discovered that the minimum bearing resistance
was not being achieved,
Our Resident Bridge Engineer directed the Contractor to
\.Jeld "lugs" on each side of these 4 piles, in order to increase
the cross sectional area and, thereby, increase the bearing
resistance, This extra work was done on a time and materials
basis for an estimated cost of $689,09,
The total estimated project cost included an amount of
$81,822,40 for contingencies, which can be used to finance the
cost of the change order,
We recommend that Change Order No, 1 be approved,
