Synopsis of Previous Council action:
1/9/86
Legislative Review Committee recommended that all
references in the Municipal Code or any other
ordinance or resolution to the position of "Chief
Engineer" be changed to reflect the correct title,
"Fire Chief," and that the City Attorney prepare an
ordinance and resolution to accomplish this purpose.
Recommended motion:
Waive further first reading of ordinance and layover for final
adoption.

STAFF REPORT
At the Legislative Review Committee meeting of January 9,
1986, the City Attorney was instructed to change the title of
Chief Engineer to Fire Chief wherever it may appear in the
San Bernardino Municipal Code. The attached document
accomplishes this change.

ORDINANCE NO.
2 ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO PROVIDING THAT
WHEREVER THE WORDS "CHIEF ENGINEER" APPEAR IN THE SAN BERNARDINO
3 MUNICIPAL CODE THE WORDS SHALL BE CHANGED TO "FIRE CHIEF".

THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO DO
5 ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
6 SECTION 1. It is the intention of the Mayor and Common
7 Council of the City of San Bernardino that wherever the words
8 "Chief Engineer" appear in the San Bernardino Municipal Code, those
9 words shall be changed to "Fire Chief".
10 I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing ordinance was duly
11 adopted by the Mayor and Common Council of the City of San
