STAFF REPORT
BID SPEC: F-85-43
The proposed purchase is for one new suburban wagon replacement vehicle, to be
utilized in daily operations by the Fire Department. At the request of the
department and in co-ordination with the Equipment Superintendent, appropriate
specifications were prepared, published and furnished to area vehicle suppliers.
The following is a summary of bids received.

Of the nine bidders solicited, two responded with a bid, five responded with reasons
for not bidding which ranged from lead-time, misplacing bid and exception to boiler-
plate clause in bid. And two did not respond in any manner at all.
Specifications as bid have been reviewed with the Equipment Superintendent and Fire
Department who concur, that the bid of DeAnza Chevrolet meets specifications and
requirements. It is therefore recommended that the bid be accepted for contract.
The amount of $15,000.00 was included in the 1985/86 budget for this equipment.

RESOLUTION NO.
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AWARDING A BID TO DE ANZA
CHEVROLET FOR THE FURNISHING AND DELIVERY OF ONE NEW SUBURBAN WAGON
IN ACCORDANCE WITH BID SPECIFICATION F-85-43.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN
BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. DeAnza Chevrolet is the lowest responsible bidder for the
furnishing and delivery of one new suburban wagon in accordance with Bid
Specification F-85-43 for the total amount of $14,106.06; pursuant to this
determination, the Purchasing Agent is hereby authorized and directed to
issue a purchase order for said new suburban wagon to said lowest responsible
bidder; such award shall only be effective upon the issuance of a purchase
order by the Purchasing Agent; and all other bids therefor are hereby
rejected.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was duly adopted by
the Mayor and Common Council of the City of San Bernardino at a
