Sellas, Police Dept. Subject School Crossing Guard, Congress & "K" Streets From Roger G. Hardgrave, Dir. of Publ ic Works/City Engineer Date December 16, 1985 File No. 13.84 Approved Date At the December 11, 1985 Mayor's Traffic Safety Committee Meeting, we reviewed the request from San Bernardino City School District for 9 additional school crossing guards at various locations throughout the City. Traffic Engineering Studies show that only the intersection of Congress & "K" Streets in the vicinity of lytle Creek School meets the pedestrian and vehicular traffic volume criteria for a school crossing guard. The Committee subsequently recommended the estab- lishment of an adult crossing guard at the subject intersection. Since the Police Department administers the School Crossing Guard Program, please follow-up on the Committee's recommendations and request approval and funding from Mayor and Common Council. Your assistance in this matter is greatly appreciated. ROGER G.
