Bids for this project were opened at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday. 1?-17-RS.
A total of 5 bids were received, ranging from $46,990.00 to $66,504.00.
The low bid of $46,990.00 is 27.7% under the Engineer's Estimate of $65,000.00.
Listed below is an estimate of the total project cost, based upon the
actual low bid price:

We recommend that a contract be awarded for the low bid price.

RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AWARDING A CONTRACT
2 TO PAIGE ELECTRIC COMPANY FOR INSTALLATION OF TRAFFIC SIGNALS AT
FORTIETH STREET AND SEPULVEDA.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE ~'AYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
4 SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS:
5 SECTION 1. Paige Electric Company is the lowest responsible
6 bidder for construction of a public project, to-wit:

7 tion of traffic signals at 40th Street and Sepulveda Avenue,
8 in accordance with Plan No. 6831, for the total amount of
9 $46,990.00.
A contract is awarded to said bidder accordingly,
10 but such award shall be effective only upon the contract being
11 fully executed by the parties; all other- bids therefor are
12 hereby rejected; and the Mayor is hereby authorized and
13 directed to execute said contract on behalf of the City;
14 a copy of the contract is attached hereto, marked Exhibit "A"
15 and incorporated herein by reference as fully as though set
16 forth at length.
17 SECTION 2. The City of San Bernardino shall not be
18 obligated by making this award unless and until the contract is
19 fully executed and no oral agreement relating thereto is intended
20 or authorized and should not be implied.

23 Bernardino at a meeting thereof,
