STAFF REPORT
The City Engineering Division has received a request for removal of
the "No Parking Any Time" parking restriction on the east side of
South "E" Street, north of Century Avenue, in front of Center
Chevrolet.
The request was initiated by representatives of Center Chevrolet
to alleviate a shortage of on-street parking which is necessary to
meet the needs of their clientele.
The initial parking restriction was implemented March, 1979, to
eliminate sight restrictions caused by large commercial trucks
that were parking for long periods of time alon9 this portion of
South "E" Street. Since this time, South "E" Street has undergone
extensive commercial development southerly to Fairway Drive, and
the truck parking problem no longer exists in the area.
The request was discussed at the Mayor's Traffic Safety Advisory
Committee on September 9, 1987. The Committee has recommended
that this request be approved and that the "No Parking Any Time"
parking restriction be removed on the east side of "E" Street,
between Century Avenue and a point 300 feet northerly thereof.

RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AMENDING
RESOLUTION NO. 3985 ENTITLED IN PART" A RESOLUTION PROHIBITING
PARKING UPON CERTAIN DESIGNATED STREET OR PORTIONS THEREOF..."
TO REMOVE A NO PARKING ANY TIME ZONE ON A PORTION OF SOUTH "E"
STREET, BETWEEN CENTURY AVENUE AND A POINT 300 FEET THEREOF,
APPLICABLE TO THE EAST SIDE ONLY.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION l. Resolution No. 3985, which prohibits park-I
ing upon certain designated streets or portions thereof, SECTION I

ONE, is amended by modifying Subsection (9) "E" STREET, (a-I) to i

read:
(a-I) Between Orange Show Road and a point 300 feet
north of the north curbline on Century Avenue, applicable to the
area 100 feet southerly of the centerline of each driveway on
the east side of "E" Street; bet\1een the projected north curb-
line of Century Avenue and Orange Show Road on the west side of
"E" Street; and any vehicle parked on or left standing thereon
may be removed, provided that aopropriate signs are posted
giving notice of such removal.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was
duly adopted by the Mayor and Common Council of the City of San
Bernardino at a
