STAFF REPORT
The purpose for designating an arterial as a through highway
by City Resolution is to ensure the appropriate vehicular right-of-
way by authorizing a stop control for traffic entering the designat-
ed through highway from residential and collector streets.
According to the Verdemont Area General Plan/Circulation
Element, Pine Avenue is a designated minor arterial between Kendall
Drive and Belmont Avenue, and a collector street between Belmont
Avenue and Ohio Avenue. These designations are not anticipated to
change in the new General Plan.
Most of the major, minor, and collector arterials in the City
are designated as through highways and the designation of Pine
Avenue will help City staff in locating traffic control devices
in this rapidly developing area.

4 KENDALL DRIVE AND PENNSYLVANIA AVENUE.
S BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1. Resolution No. 655, which designates certain
streets or portions thereof as through highways, Section 1, is
amended by adding thereto Subsection 14 to read:
"14. PINE AVENUE
Between Kendall Drive and Pennsylvania Avenue."
