STAFF REPORT
Local City streets should be designated by the City, with
concurrence of California Department of Transportation, for inclus-
sion in the Federal-Aid Urban System, to make them eligible for
Federal-Aid funding.
Adding an arterial to the FAU System is beneficial to the
City in terms of having an additional source of financing for
future projects on this arterial.
The following arterials are not currently on the FAU
system and are located in a high growth area where major street
improvements and signalization projects are anticipated in the
future:

University Parkway, from Kendall Drive to Northpark
Boulevard.
Northpark Boulevard, from University Parkway to
Electric Avenue
Little Mountain Drive, from Northpark Boulevard to
Kendall Dri ve
Electric Avenue from Northpark Boulevard to Fortieth
Street.
Redlands Boulevard from Hunts Lane to Eastern City
Limits.
We recommend the adoption of the attached resolution in
order to proceed with the application for California Department
of Transportation's concurrence.

RESOLUTION NO.
2 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO APPROVING THE
INCLUSION OF U~IVERSITY PARKWAY, BETWEEN KENDALL DRIVE AND
3 ~ORTHPARK BOULEVARD; NORTHPARK BOULEVARD B~TWEEN UNIVERSITY
PARKWAY AND ELECTRIC AVENUE; LITTLE MOUNTAIN DRIVE, BETWEEN
4 NORTHPARK BOULEVARD AND KENDALL DRIVE; ELECTRIC AVENUE, BETWEEN
NORTHPARK BOULEVARD AND FORTIETH STREET; AND REDLANDS BOULEVARD,
5 BETWEEN HUNTS LANE AND EASTERN CITY LIMITS, INTO THE FEDERAL-AID
URBAN SYSTEM.

WHEREAS, University Parkway between Kendall Drive and
Northpark Boulevard; Northpark Boulevard between University
8
Parkway and Electric Avenue; Little Mountain Drive between
9
Northpark Boulevard and Kendall Drivel Electric Avenue, between
10
Northpark Boulevard and Fortieth Street; and Redlands Boulevard,
11
between Hunts Lane and Eastern City Limites, are not currently
12
listed on the Federal-Aid Urban System; and
13
WHEREAS, these segments of City streets are designated
14
as arterial streets on the City of San Bernardino's General Plan,
15
and Select System; and
16
WHEREAS, these four street se~ments will provide
17
connections to the existinQ Federal-Aid Urban System.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Common
19
Council of the City of San Bernardino that the inclusion of
20
University Parkway between Kendall Drive and Northpark Boulevard;
21
Northpark Boulevard between University Parkway and Electric
22
Avenue; Little Mountain Drive between Northpark Boulevard and
23
Kendall Drive; Electric Avenue between Northpark Boulevard and
24
Fortieth Street; and Redlands Boulevard between Hunts Lane and
25
Eastern City Limits, to the City of San Bernardino's Federal-Aid
26
Urban System be approved.
