SVnopsis of Previous Council action:
08-11-81: Your Honorable Body authorized the Director of Public Works to initiate
proceedings for the vacation of a portion of alley near Evans and Ht. Vernon.
Recommended motion:
1) That a finding of need for health and safety reasons, for the vacation of that
certain North/South alley located I,est of ~1t. Vernon, between 16th Street and Evans
Street, be made.
2) That Plan No. 1335 for the vacation of that certain North/South alley located West
of :H. Vernon, between 16th Street and Evans Street, be approved.

CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO - REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION
STAFF REPORT
On August 17, 1987, your Honorable Body authorized the
Director of Public Works to initiate proceedings for
the vacation of that certain North/South Alley, located
West of Mt. Vernon, between Evans Street and 16th Street.
The subject alley has become a place for frequent late
night gatherings, which result in excessive noise and
littering. The alley has also become a location for
frequent drug trafficking.
vacation of the alley would allow adjacent property owners
to extend their fences across the vacated area, thus
closing off the alley to public access, and thus elimi-
nating the above mentioned problems.
It is therefore recommended that the findings of need
for health and safety reasons, for the vacation of that
certain North/South alley, West of Mt. Vernon between
16th Street and Evans Street, be made, and that Plan
No. 7335 be' approved.
