Command College Project on Missing Children, January 13 through 15, 1988, be
approved.

STAFF REPORT
In order to complete the California Peace Officers Standards of
Training Command College it will be necessary to travel out of
state for research purposes. Lt. Griggs will be traveling to the
National Center for Missing and Exploited Chndren in Washington,
DC and the "I" Search Interstate Project for Missing Children in
Springfield, Ill.
This research will provide informationa and material for the
thesis "What Wi Il be the Impact of Missing Children Cases on
Law Enforcement by the Year 1998". This research will lead to
Lt. Griggs' completion of the two year Executive Development
Course, networking with experts in this field on the national,
interstate, state and local levels. It will serve to provide
knowledge, experience and expertise which will enable the San
Bernardino Police Department to offer better service to the
community in the area of exploited and missing children.
The estimated cost of the trip is $890.00. This trip is P.O.S.T.
reimbursable through Plan IV. $70.00 per day for subsistance
and .26~ per mile.
