Synopsis of Previous Council action:
June, 1985
Allocation of $10,000 for construction of a horse~
shoe pitching pit, approved in the 1985/86 CDBG
Program.
June, 1986
Allocation of $20,000 for construction of a 270 square
foot storage room, approved in the 1986/87 CDBG
Program.
09-08-87
Plans approved and authorization granted to advertise
for bids.
Recommended motion:
That the Director of Public Works/City Engineer be authorized to
readvertise for bids, for construction of a horseshoe pitching pit
and storage building, at the Center for Individuals with Disabilities,
in accordance with Plan No. 7279.

STAFF REPORT
Bids for this project were to be opened at 2:00 p.m., on Tuesday,
October 20, 1987.
No bids were received.
Three contractors took out Plans and Specifications for bidding
purposes. These contractors were contacted to determine why
they did not submit a bid. One was out of bonding capacity. One
was having problems getting a firm price for concrete, and the
other was worried about possible conflicts with utilities. All
indicated an interest in submitting a bid when the project is
readvertised.
We recommend that authority be granted to readvertise.
