for health and safety reasons.
Plans approved and authorization granted to advertise

Recommended motion:
1. That the transfer of $10,500, from unallocated 1986/87
SB 325 Funds to Account No. 122-353-57060, "Installa-
tion of Sidewalks--Baseline St., Highland Ave., &
South "E" Street," be approved.
2. Adopt Resolution.

Bids for this project were opened at 2:00 p.m. on Tues-
day, 10-06-87.
A total of 3 bids were received, ranging from $32,423.57
to $43,843.40. The low bid of $32,423.57 is 1.5% under the En-
gineer's Estimate of $32,908.00.
Listed below is an estimate of the total project cost,
based upon the actual low bid price:

We recommend that a contract be awarded for the low bid
price.

RESOLUTION NO.
2 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AWARDING A
CONTRACT TO REDLANDS PAVING, INC. FOR CONSTRUCTION OF SIDEWALKS
3 ON BASELINE STREET, HIGHLAND AVENUE, AND SOUTH "E" STREET.
4 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1. Redlands Paving, Inc. is the lowest
responsible bidder for:
Construction of sidewalks on portions of
Baseline Street, Highland Avenue, and South "E" Street, in
accordance with Plan No. 7223, for the total amount of $32,423.57,
a contract is awarded to said bidder accordingly, for the Basic
Bid, and Additive Alternates "A" and "B", but such award shall be
effective only upon the contract being fully executed by the
parties; all other bids therefor are hereby rejected; and the Mayor
is hereby authorized and directed to execute said contract on
ehalf of the City; a copy of the contract is attached hereto,
arked Exhibit "A" and incorporated herein by reference as fully
s though set forth at length.
SECTION 2. Execution and Amendments. This contract and
any amendments or modifications thereto shall not take effect or
become operative until fully signed and executed by the parties
nd no party shall be obligated hereunder until the time of such
ull execution. No oral agreements, amendments, modifications
r waivers are intended or authorized and shall not be implied
rom any act or course of conduct of any party.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was duly
dopted by the Mayor and Common Council of the City of San
