Recommended motion:
That the acceptance of Lot "A," at the northerly
terminus of Lamarr Street in Tract No. 8969, be approved
in principle, contingent upon the temporary cul-de-sac
being removed, new street improvements constructed, and
the front yardS being restored to the equivalent of the
original condition, in accordance with plans approved by
the Director of Public Works/City Engineer.

STAFF REPORT
Lamarr Street was intended to be extended to the north,
upon development of the vacant parcel in the City of Rialto. A
temporary cul-de-sac was constructed, to provide a turn-around
until such time as the street was extended. The tract map shows
the north 1 foot of Lamarr Street as Lot "A," and offers it for
dedication. However, this offer was not accepted at the time of
approval of the final map, in order to provide control over the
future extension of the street.
A tract has been approved on the parcel to the north by
the City of Rialto. This map shows Lamarr Street to be extended
to the north, with the name of Ash Street. Apparently there is
a street with this name further to the north that ali9ns with
Lamarr Street. We have brou9ht this to Rialto's attention, and
requested that they change the name of their street to the estab-
lished one.
In order for this street to be extended, Lot "A" will y"
need to be accepted by the City of San Bernardino as a public
street. We recommend that this acceptance be conditioned upon
the cul-de-sac being removed, new street improvements being con-
structed and front yards being restored to their ori9inal condi-
tion. Restoration will include filling to grade, repairing irri-
gation system, and re-establishing landscaping.
Sewage from the new tract will be drained to the City of
Rialto sewer main in Pepper Avenue. Storm water will drain south
to the present Lamarr Street.
Some residents on Lamarr Street have contacted our office
to inquire about removal of the cul-de-sac, additional traffic,
etc.
If the acceptance of Lot "A" is approved, we will present
a resolution accepting this parcel as public street right-of-way
upon completion of the stipulated conditions.
